The U.S. escalated Iran sanctions and maritime blockade restrictions on October 1, while Saudi Yanbu port faced brief attack. Despite ongoing threats, Gulf crude exports have rebounded near pre-war levels per press reports. The shipping industry continues rerouting vessels and relocating oil transfers away from Hormuz waters to manage congestion. On October 2–3, the U.S. deployed an additional carrier and 10,000 troops to the Persian Gulf for Iran contingency operations.
