Synopsis
High pressure of 30.3 inches centered over Lake Huron this afternoon shifts east to the mouth of the St. Lawrence River by this evening. Immediately behind, a 29.8 inch Clipper approaching northern Minnesota this afternoon skirts along Lake Superior's north shore tonight and tomorrow, sending elevated southerly winds across Lake Superior this evening, followed by elevated northwesterlies tomorrow behind the front. Behind the Clipper, 30.3 inch high pressure quickly returns to the Northern Plains on Sunday and moves overhead on Monday. After this high pressure ridging, another Clipper low moves east over the Canadian Prairies before passing to the north of Lake Superior at 29.6 inches late Tuesday and Tuesday night. Remnant troughing of 29.9 inches remains over Lake Superior through Thursday prior to surface ridging moving in again on Friday.
